About the I-SKILLS Résumé[1]
Information Skills and Knowledge for Lifelong Learning Success.
- Why should I keep an I-SKILLS Résumé?
- The I-SKILLS Résumé is a tool to help you document your information expertise as you accumulate new skills throughout your college career. The I-SKILLS Résumé helps a potential employer understand the range of your accomplishment in the vital area of information literacy. (Information literacy means skill in locating, evaluating, and effectively using needed information, using a variety of technologies.)
- How do I develop an I-SKILLS Résumé?
- Scan the Sample I-SKILLS Résumé for ideas and then, preferably starting your freshman year, begin adding to the blank Résumé. Each time you have an information skills experience in or outside of class, add it to your Résumé, then save it on the H:\ drive. As your skill level improves, your I-SKILLS Résumé will reflect your skill growth.[2] By the time you graduate you will have compiled an impressive record!
- When can I get assistance in preparing an I-SKILLS Résumé?
- If you have questions about developing an I-SKILLS Résumé, contact Kristen Gibson in the Thomas Library Reference Office: 937.327.7533 or kgibson@wittenberg.edu.
