How Does Information Literacy Apply to the Wittenberg Curriculum?
Wittenberg University's research requirement states in part:
The student should be able to use the library to acquire information
and to explore ideas and should understand the role of technology
in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information.
Information literacy, integrated into all levels of the curriculum,
is vital to fulfilling this requirement. Information accessible through
the library is a key component of the information universe available
to Wittenberg students.
The librarians are skilled in teaching students information literacy,
both in-class and in individual consultations. But information literacy
extends beyond the library, so librarians collaborate with classroom faculty
to integrate teaching of these competencies into the curriculum.
