How Do I Find Articles?

Finding articles is a multi-step process.
Find an appropriate index
To find an appropriate index, look at our list of Indexes and Databases and find an index that covers your subject.
Don't know where to start? Try a general index like Academic Search Premier or ask a reference librarian.

Search the index for article references
Indexes list articles by subject or keyword, but often don't link directly to the full text of the article.
Make a note of the full citation (often labelled "Source" or "Appears In"). The citation will include the magazine or journal title, the date of publication, and the page numbers.

See if Wittenberg has access to the magazine or journal you're looking for.
Check our searchable list of Journals the Library Has to see if the library has the source you need, either in print or online.

Look up your article
Armed with the article citation from the index and the information from our list of journals, go to the part of the library or the online source that has the source you need, find the journal and look up your article.

If your article is not available at Wittenberg...
Articles not available at Witt in print or online may be requested through Inter-Library Loan.
