- This continuing set now has over 270 volumes. CA aims to include all nontechnical writers in all genres--fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, etc.--whose works have been written in or translated into English.
Includes authors deceased after 1900 who remain of interest to today's readers.
- Dictionary of Literary Biography. Detroit: Gale, 1982- . Ref. PN 5001 .D5
Especially vols. 117, 125, 157: Twentieth Century Caribbean and Black African Writers (1st, 2nd, 3rd series).
- DLB is a "cousin" to CA (above). Also a very large and growing set (over 200 volumes so far), it includes fewer people but gives extensive information on them.
The latest volume has a cumulative index to the whole set.
