I. Library Catalogs
Basic Skills - describes useful search techniques that apply to research databases, library catalogs and internet search engines

EZRA - Catalog of items held in Thomas Library
      Applied Management Collection - over 300 titles in Main Stacks of Thomas Library.
      Access is via EZRA with the subject heading Applied Management Collection

OhioLINK - Combined catalog of more than 80 Ohio academic libraries
WorldCat (limited ports) - Combined catalog of thousands of libraries worldwide.

III.   Databases for Finding Journal and Newspaper Articles

       ***Business Source Complete    from EBSCO - Extensive index to business
        and management periodicals; some full text -
       Librarian's tip:On the green bar at the top of the search screen, you can click on the
                Company Profiles button to get brief and long profiles.  This is a good place
                to find names of top competitors.
   ***Lexis-Nexis  General News Topics - indexes many newspapers back as far as 20
            years; all full text.  
           Also, under Step One, Select a News Category, you can select University News,
           which gives you a choice of the Chronicle of Higher Education or University Wire
           as your news source.

        Academic Search Complete - Basic, general purpose index to journal articles.  1/3 to 1/2
            of the database is full text.

IV.   Locating Journals:

    At Wittenberg:  Go to Journals the Library Has: Electronic and Print 

    At other Ohio academic libraries Use Interlibrary Loan.  (Note: you generally cannot request
        periodicals via OhioLINK.)

Note: Locating journals can be tricky, difficult, and generally exasperating.  If you run into trouble, a reference librarian will be glad to assist you.

 Google Scholar -
Caution! This provides references to scholarly articles, but finding the actual article may be difficult and costly.  Also, journal coverage is incomplete and not current. Subscription databases are almost always better.

Ad Council - The Ad Council produces public service advertisements.  You can see a sample of them on this web site, and you can also order ad materials.  There is also a Research Center section that matches situations with key insights and strategic advertising solutions.

Advertising World - "The Ultimate Marketing Communications Directory" Has a ton of links.
AIGA/Aquent - Advertising-related salary site - wealth of business information for small business and entrepreneurs - "an online international exchange on the subject of branding."

VIII. Public Opinion "An independent, nonpartisan resource on trends in American public opinion."
Pew Research Center an independent, non-partisan public opinion research organization that studies attitudes toward politics, the press and public policy issues
Gallup Organization Provides the results of recent Gallup polls and explains how the polls are conducted. 
The Nielsen Company provides some free reports on consumer watching and buying habits
The American Customer Satisfaction Index ACSI measures national customer satisfaction by industry or company
