III. Periodicals: Journals, Magazines, and More
A. Accessing Periodicals
At Wittenberg: Journals the Library Has - Electronic and Print access will show up
If Wittenberg doesn't have access, fill out the Interlibrary Loan form to request a copy
B. Databases for Finding Articles
* Business Source Complete by EBSCO - Extensive index to business and management periodicals; contains SWOT analyses and lots of full text articles from newspapers and journals.
Librarian's tip: Mouse over "More" on the blue bar at the top of the screen and click on "Company Profiles" to search for Market Line Reports. These reports include names of top competitors.
Academic Search Complete by EBSCO - indexes about 1800 periodicals, with lots of full text.
MasterFile Premier by EBSCO - Similar to Academic Search Complete, but with a more popular set of indexed magazines. Lots of full text.
SocINDEX with full text by EBSCO - Index, abstracts, and full text covering sociology.
*** Save time by searching four databases listed above concurrently by selecting each one from the Choose Databases tab available by accessing any one of these four EBSCO database
EconLit - Basic index to economics journals.

- Wittenberg's Writing Center maintains information about a variety of commonly used citation styles. And you can always drop by the Writing Center or the Library Reference Desk for help interpreting the instructions.
- Research and Documentation Online provides examples of how to create in-text citations, how to compile a bibliography and samples of proper formatting for MLA, APA, Chicago and CSE styles. It also provides tips for evaluating sources.

Provides references to scholarly books and articles. Finding the full text may be difficult and costly...unless OLinks (OhioLINK) provides access to the article, in which case any fees have been paid by the library. Subscription databases almost always provide more complete and more current coverage. Most useful for locating specific items named in a bibliography or works cited list. |
