Selling Scrap Metal

The following two businesses in Springfield accept and pay for scrap metals, including aluminum cans. Prices vary with the market. Copper and brass (old copper pipe, electrical wire, brass plumbing fixtures, etc.) and stainless steel are fairly high in price. Aluminum beverage cans and clean cast aluminum (screen doors, etc) are also priced well. Aluminum with steel rivets, screws, hinges, etc. is called "irony" aluminum and has a much lower price. If you have the time, it is worth checking your scrap with a magnet and removing iron parts. Scrap iron carries the lowest price, but if you have old car parts (engines, transmissions, brake drums) it may be worth the trip:
